2002 - Tim Harrold

1999 – 2002

Tim was Ashish's first PhD student and was supervised by him and Simon Sheather (who was at the AGSM at UNSW in those days, and was the developer on certain nonparametric methods I knew much about from my PhD days). Tim worked on formulating stochastic models for rainfall generation at a daily scale.

Tim's Phd papers are still in demand, and set up the basis for many later papers on rainfall generation and downscaling through Raj Mehrotra's PhD and subsequent work.
